Sporting Clays Australia: Our History

sca timeline

Our Story

Our Association started life in 1974 under the banner of the “Field & Game Federation of Australia Inc” (FGFA) to service the needs of the ever expanding numbers of sportsmen and women who dedicated their time to the various forms of Sporting Clays.

In 1981 the FGFA became affiliated with FITASC (“Federation Internationale de Tir Aux Sportives de Chasse”), the worldwide body overseeing the non-Olympic shooting disciplines of Parcours de Chasse (FITASC Sporting), Compak Sporting, Helice (ZZ), Fosse (Universal Trench) and Combined Game Shooting at the international level.

In November 2015 the association went through a major restructure and adopted a new name – “Sporting Clays Australia Association” (SCA) – and a new logo.

We offer many pathways for our Members in Australia to get involved in the sport, from the recreational shooters who like to socialise at the local range to Club, State and National competitors through to those at the elite level, representing their country on the International stage. Why not take the time out to visit one of our Clubs around Australia and experience our great sport first-hand.
