Club Coach Course

This is an accredited course with the Australian Shooting Ltd (AS) who is accredited with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and part of the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS).

The course is run by accredited AS presenters and assessors, who are SCA members.

The course is run over two full days, you will learn about:- The role of the coach – Communication – Firearm safety – Coaching athletes – Developing the athlete- Shooting techniques.

The course was designed to be interactive; you will be supplied with the SCA Club Coach Manual detailing the SCA preferred methods to coach Sporting Clays.

After the course, you will be assessed on two separate occasions; once you have been deemed competent you will receive your Coaching accreditation.

Your State Coaching Directors and other experienced coaches will be on hand to help mentor and assist you with any support required.

The Club Coach course will equip you with the skills and confidence to start coaching with the new and novice shooter.

You will receive NCAS accreditation and also an AS Club Coach card. This Coaching position is re-assessed every four years.

The cost of the course is kept to a minimum and in most cases the cost is covered by the state and not yourself, as a member.

If you would like to become a Club Coach then please talk to your State Coaching Director.

To be an accredited club coach, you must be a competent shooter.

The Club Coach Course is a prerequisite to the Competition Coach.

Competition Coach Course

After completing the Club coach course, the next stage open is to progress up to the next level & become a Competition Coach. You will need to have your Club Coach Accreditation as a prerequisite before you are able to become a competition coach.
This coaching level is also an accredited course with Shooting Australia (SA), with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and part of the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS). The course is run over two full days. We have these courses available in all states with registered ‘Shooting Australia’ Assessors & Presenters.
Amongst other things, you will learn about:- Role of the Coach – Talent Identification – Group Management – Mental preparation – Training Programs –

You will be recognised for this coaching position through the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), part of the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS). This Coaching position will be re-assessed every four years. Your State Coaching Director is on hand to help mentor & give you support.

The Competition Coach course will equip you with the skills and confidence to start coaching with experienced State/ National Level shooters.
